I have a Casio CTK-4200 and want to connect it via MIDI to my MacBook Pro. I know Casio does not make a Mac driver but I really want this to work, as I had the keyboard before the MacBook. There was a post in 2007 where someone with the username ferland.francois posted a custom driver for Casio which seems to have worked in 2007. I downloaded it and restarted my MacBook and while I can find the driver in my audio drivers file, the keyboard does not show up in the Audio MIDI Setup application. I downloaded USBProber and the keyboard does show up there as a device 'CASIO USB-MIDI'.
CASIO reserves the right to terminate this Driver EULA at any time if you are in breach of any of its terms and conditions. (3) You agree upon termination of this Driver EULA to immediately, and completely destroy the Driver together with any copies. Article 5: Other (1). : Compatible (Installation of special driver not required.): Compatible, with some limitations.: Not compatible.1 Both the IN and OUT devices may be displayed during MIDI device selection with the MIDI application software. Select the appropriate IN/OUT device names. Mistakenly selecting 'IN' for an OUT device or 'OUT' for an IN device when using SMF Converter will cause the 'The MIDI device.
Does anyone know how to get a hold of ferland.francois? Can anyone help me fix his driver? He hasn't updated on softpedia since 2013. I appreciate any help!
